How to Write a Comparison and Contrast Essay Topic That Will Determine the Applicants Choice of College

How to Write a Comparison and Contrast Essay Topic That Will Determine the Applicant's Choice of CollegeThe major task to do when you want to write a comparison and contrast essay topic for your college admissions test is to come up with a compelling argument for why your college application has the strongest argument to beat all of the other essays submitted by other applicants. This can be an intimidating prospect for students because they often don't realize how important the writing is until they've received their admissions offers and had to begin the research process. Don't worry though; this can be a very simple process that will yield powerful results in the end.The first thing to remember when writing a comparison and contrast essay topic is that you should always state your strengths in the essay first. When you start off by telling students what they have to gain from the essay you'll immediately begin building a frame of reference for them so that when they get to your we aknesses they'll know where to find out more about your strengths. Using these two pieces of information will give students a good idea of the kind of college admissions essay they're going to write and this will help them to decide on what type of essay to write and then what type of essay to submit. The next thing to remember when writing a comparison and contrast essay topics is to focus on what makes you different from the other applicants. Students will need to find out why you are a better candidate than the rest of the applicants who are trying to get into your college, and this is the time to start putting your knowledge, skills, and experiences to work. When you explain how you were a great student, competed well in sports, worked hard at school, and so on, you will find that this becomes your driving force and will convince other applicants to believe that you're the right person for their school. One of the most crucial steps in coming up with a comparison and contrast essa y topics is to come up with topics that are grounded in facts. Make sure that your essay addresses what makes you special and why you're the best candidate for the school. Every college will have its own setof admissions requirements and each admissions officer will be looking for specific types of essays, so make sure that your essay will match these requirements and won't be too unique or off the wall. One last step that every student needs to take when writing a comparison and contrast essay topics is to write from the heart. This means that you need to explain what you like about the school, what you love about the school, and what you think is lacking in the school that can be improved upon. After you explain all of these things in your essay, you need to summarize all of these points in a single paragraph and make sure that you get the reader to focus on one particular thing and that's what's wrong with the school. The main thing to remember when writing a comparison and contras t essay topics is that you must not let emotions get in the way of your good grammar and straightforward sentences. If you have to create a new paragraph just to explain your thoughts, then the chances are that it won't stand out as much and that your essay won't impress your college admissions officers. As a result, make sure that you spend as much time working on your own essay as possible. Keep yourself motivated by comparing and contrasting the strengths and weaknesses of the applicants and offer a single reason why you're the best candidate for the school. Also make sure that your writing doesn't put emphasis on your weaknesses because by doing so you will find that your essay will seem less professional and you won't stand out as much.

Safety Standards at Western Mining

Question: Discuss about the Safety Standards at Western Mining. Answer: Introduction: Of the many high risk business mining can be considered as one of the most hazardous work field even though several systems for safety are in place. The work is specifically difficult for labor working onsite and hence all the mining companies have strict safety measures in place. Yet, time to time grievous incidents occur as a result of a slip in the safety standards. Western mining today is facing one such situations with several incidents over the past six months. Below are three actions that need to be put in place to enhance the efficiency of the current system The first action is to investigate on the recent incidents that has occurred over the last two years and analyze the areas of high risk. It is possible that similar incidents due a certain set of actions are raising multiple accidents which would help the company narrow the areas where stringent rules and measures have to be applied (Breault, 2014). If there are multiple reasons for the various incidents occurred that would mean that the policy in place is not efficient enough and a new one should be put into place by inspecting the current setup. Over years and years of doing the same job, people often forget the importance of safety measures and take them for granted especially if no incidents have occurred in their line of work. When job turns into a habitual thing this could be an issue. Also, the safety measures are printed and displayed in the site however, it is unlikely that the same are being concentrated upon (Lodge, 2013). The company would have to conduct a seminar with the labor onsite to help them become aware of the increasing incidents and reiterate the safety measures and need to follow the same. Conduct an audit of the entire machinery and safety standards to analyze the compliance of the current standards. An audit which is usually conducted annually is preplanned and hence the machinery and the workers are prepared for the same. One the other hand a surprise audit can bring several new aspects into light and hence help the company understand the reasons for various incidents (Gregory, 2012). Areas where expert assistance would be required Expert assistance would be required to understand and identify patterns or common reasons of accidents if any and suggest how these can be avoided. The site manager is capable of doing the same. However, experts have a wider area of knowledge especially in safety and health hazards. They would have worked with not one but multiple companies adding experience with each incident at each of these sites (Horberry, 2016). Ideas implemented in other mining fields can also be suggested by them. Also, an outsider would generally have an unbiased opinion and in case of safety this is crucial. Improvement to the current WHS procedure Implementing a data analysis team. This is one step that can be added to WHS procedure. Essentially this team would not actually do anything during the accident. The first aid team is trained to do that. The quick reaction team, gathers data on how, why and the possible reason for the incident to occur and analyses the same to understand what has caused the situation. Every such incident would be documented by this team, not after months of the incident occurrence, but rather immediately. These incidents would then be bought up to the management with appropriate changes that can be done to eliminate similar cases (Cooke, 2015). Methods to assess compliance of WHS Assessing the current system and upgrading or improving the same is crucial for the development of the company. It is also necessary to ensure that all the safety standards are up to date and are in comply with the legislative and the organizational standards. One way of ensuring the same is by hiring a company that can analyze the safety measures. There are several online assessments and forums that work for the improvement of safety standards (Brilha, 2014). These assessment can be used to understand how well the company is in sync with the legislative standards. One another method is to be informed about the various policies that have been put up by the Australian government. The Aus Trade website has a list of rules, regulations and standards that have to be followed by the company in each industry. Mining has its own set of standards and can be found here. A comparison between the current standards of the company and these standards can be used to understand the compliance. Reference Breault, R. (2014). Mining the Potential in Your State Standards. Autism Awareness Essays

Autism Awareness Essays Autism Awareness Essay Autism Awareness Essay Autism Awareness It is important that America becomes more aware of the complications and difficulties experienced by people and families of people with autism and starts dealing with it in a positive and proactive manner. Many people continue to talk about it over the years, but more is needed. It would benefit so many Americans and their families to stop talking, and maybe start doing. Autism is not a disease as many may think; it is a disorder of the central nervous system. It really has three main features that define the disorder but they can have many symptoms. These three main features are: problems with social interactions, verbal and nonverbal communication, and also performing the same actions continuously with very limited interest. Autistic people suffer with not being able to interact with large or small groups of people. One possible solution to help autistic people would be to get groups of them together, so they could interact with each other. This could be done by having mixers. They could take field trips to places such as the zoo, McWane Center, Alabama Adventure, etc. Also, they could have parties such as dances to have fun with each other. All of these ideas allow them to have a good time together, and feel comfortable around each other and learn how to interact socially. Verbal and nonverbal communication is also a problem that autistic people have trouble with. One way to fix the trouble would be to develop a chat/video group online at schools where autistic children can learn to communicate with each other. If they can talk to one another then it will help familiarize them with verbal and nonverbal communication skills. These skills may provide a basis for relationships with other autistic people as well as non autistic people. Autistic people tend to do the same thing over and over because of a chemical imbalance in their brain. For example, a little autistic boy attends softball games regularly, and always has a score book to keep up with the games. This boy knows the game of softball, and is very interested in keeping his book at every game. This is an example of how their attention can be held by something trivial and non-challenging to non-affected people. Schools and centers for autistic people should recognize that this is something they enjoy and should encourage it. The autism awareness symbol represents the many puzzle pieces necessary to solve the difficulties of autism. One in every one thousand people in the United States has autism. I believe starting with these three problems of autism I could raise local awareness and provide a more comfortable lifestyle for all effected.

Is It Time to Subscribe to LinkedIn ® Premium You may have been wondering what the difference is between a basic LinkedIn account and a Premium one. Hovering over your photo thumbnail in the upper right corner of your profile will reveal a drop down menu where you can click to try Premium for 1 month free. You will be brought to LinkedIn’s Premium Services Page, where you will then have the option to select a Premium upgrade tailored to whether you are in job search, looking to promote your business, makes sales or hire talent. The cost for each varies and as of January 2017, is as follows: Career: $29.99/mo Business (Business Plus): $47.99/mo Sales (Sales Navigator Professional): $64.99/mo Hiring (Recruiter Lite): $99.95/mo According to LinkedIn Help, a basic account is for anyone who wants to create and maintain a professional profile online. Premium accounts are for those will specific goals, who want to get more out of LinkedIn. My unscientific observation is that more and more people are subscribing to LinkedIn ® Premium. Although I still believe that for most users, a free account will get you most of the value you need,  I feel it’s only fair to mention that there are advantages  to LinkedIn ® Premium. With LinkedIn ® Premium, you get a Premium label in the upper right of your heading that draws attention to your profile. And you have a greater ability to view other people’s profiles, see who has viewed you so you can reach out to them, and write to whomever you want on LinkedIn ®. With Sales Navigator, you’ll have the capability of adding notes and tags for all your connections, a feature that was eliminated from the free account in March 2017. For more about the special features available to Premium users, see LinkedIn Helps Premium Account FAQs under Specific Features Account Types. If these features are important to you, you might choose to subscribe to a paid package and see if you get value that equals or exceeds the investment. I’m holding out for now. 🙂 Log in to Reply Marina says: July 29, 2014 at 4:18 pm Thanks for sharing, Brenda! Ive applied too. Log in to Reply

The chemisrty in onions Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

The chemisrty in onions - Research Paper Example Some of these acids like the 1-propenesulfenic acid is acted upon by the lachrymatory factor synthase enzyme to produce a volatile gas known as syn-propanethial-S-oxide also referred to as onion lachrymatory factor. The syn-propanethial-S-oxide diffuses in the air and on reaching the eye; a stinging sensation is felt due to its activation on the sensory neurons (Block, 2010). The onion cells contain various different enzymes kept separate and upon cutting, the cells contents become free and mix with the acids kept in the onion forming volatile compounds. In the eye, a reaction occurs between the propanethiole S-oxide and the tears released from the tear glands forming a mild sulphuric acid stimulating rapid release of tears which in turn makes the situation more worse. The alliinase enzyme is responsible for breaking down onions compounds into unstable intermediates which either change into thiosulfinate or lachrymatory factor. Thiosulfinate is responsible for the distinct flavor and odor from the onions as well as converted into sulfur compounds that benefit the body by lowering the cholesterol levels, acting as anti-blood clotting, anti-asthma, anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory. Research has confirmed that only one specific enzyme is responsible of causing the formation of the lachrymatory factor hence inhibiting it will stop crying and on the long run increase the thiosulfinate compounds yield. Several strategies ranging from laboratory research to local imaginations have been employed towards the production of tear free onions or the prevention of the lachrymatory factor from reaching the eyes by neutralizing it in the air. To start with, the New Zealand Crop and Food Research together with the Japan House Food Corporation in 2008 developed tear free onions aiming at less reaction and irritation to the eyes. The new variety, taste and look like the regular onions but the action of lachrymatory factor synthase enzyme is lowered through genetic alteration. Th e modification has been engineered through the production of genetically modified foods that have been said to contain the desired nutrients. Research refills that if onions are grown on sulfur deficient soils, the creation of lachrymatory factor and other sulfur compounds is reduced and sweet flavor enhanced. This is in relation to Vidalia; a brand of sweet onions (Imani, 2002). The local methods used in a daily basis include: Chopping onions while chewing gum. Though the method is not as certain to the expected results, less crying is evident but the coordination between keeping on chewing the gum as you cut the onions is tricky. At the end of it, less tears come out besides high levels of irritation. It has been found to be an easy and convenient method to use (Walter, 2006). The use of goggles is gaining popularity as it gives painless results. The goggles protect the eyes from the volatile gas hence no tears or stinging. They are easy and convenient to be used though it is an a dded cost and their tight grip causes uncomfortable moments (Dille, 1996). Another method fruitfully used is that of freezing the onions in the freezer for about 15 minutes before chopping. The temperature in the freezer is very low to an extent of inhibiting the onions from releasing chemicals that irritate the eyes. It is painless, no tears and irritation. The

Watergate Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Watergate - Essay Example Finally, faced by a revolt from within his own party, he chose to step down. How did it come to this? The answer lay in the Watergate hotel complex and the break-in of the Democratic National Committee's headquarters there. The actions undertaken by Nixon and his lieutenants with regards to that event were unacceptable to Americans (Liebovich, 61). They belonged to a country like Romania or Guatemala. Americans had not died during the Revolutionary War against a tyrannical king only to have their president claim he was above the law. This paper will discuss the Watergate Scandal and the events leading to Nixon's resignation from the presidency. Following the discovery of the break-in to the Democratic National Committee's offices, both the courts and the media began to trace things up the chain of command. Reporters such as Woodward and Bernstein published stories linking some of Nixon's closest aides to the break-in. These men were then forced to resign. Congress began its own inves tigation, and Nixon also appointed Archibald Cox to be an independent investigator (Kutler, 330). The ties and connections between the burglars and Nixon were murky and complex. Every string that a reporter pulled ended up leading to another string or connection. So many people appeared to be either involved or trying to protect the president. During the hearings, one of the men who worked in the office of the president's counsel was asked if there was any sort of recording device in the Oval Office. It was revealed that Nixon had recorded all conversations (Kutler, 383). These tapes were subpoenaed but Nixon refused to release them, saying that they were covered by his executive privilege. This created a showdown. Most people felt that Nixon was refusing the release the tapes because they were incriminating. Nixon claimed that they had a great deal of privileged information on them. At this point, due to the many revelations, Nixon had lost the benefit of the doubt. Conversations o n the tapes showed that Nixon had discussed with John Dean the paying of blackmail money to the burglars (Liebovich, 60). Dean, the former White House counsel, later became a key witness against Nixon in the hearings. When the tapes were finally released, an 18 minute gap was discovered where portions of the tapes had been erased. This was thought by many to be a virtual admission of guilt, taking into consideration the massive mendacity that had to that point been supplied by the Nixon administration. Several more months passed. Nixon's men were indicted. Congress began to move towards a process of impeachment after more tapes revealed that Nixon knew more about the break-in than he had originally suggested. The result was that Nixon's position became untenable. He was extremely unpopular and his own party planned to vote against him. He decided to resign. A lot about this scandal is still unknown. One thing that it is easy to judge, however, is that this is an example of the maxim , the cover up is worse than the crime. The break-in was clearly illegal, but if Nixon had said at the beginning that this was bad and had turned the burglars in, it seems unlikely things would have ended up as they did. Instead, dozens of people became involved in illegal action—especially obstruction of justice—in trying to cover things up. Nixon thought he could fire special prosecutors at will. He relied on peoples' patriotism to protect himself. In the end, the American people had had enough of the spectacle he created. They were disgusted with him as their leader and he never recovered his reputation again. The coda of all of these events was surely the Frost/Nixon interviews of the late 1970s. These conversations, the first with Nixon since his
